Mission

ERN was born amidst the chaos and devastation of the Waverly, TN floods on August 21, 2021, sparked by the compassionate response of RockFish Church. Moved by the urgent need for aid, the church dispatched 13 dedicated volunteers to assist in the grueling cleanup efforts. Upon arrival, they encountered a scene where coordination among relief organizations was lacking, and the focus seemed solely on meeting deadlines rather than fostering genuine community recovery. What struck them most was the absence of emotional and spiritual support for the distraught residents.

Witnessing this critical gap, the volunteers resolved to take action. Thus, ERN emerged—a beacon of hope designed to offer not just practical assistance, but also the vital emotional and spiritual care so often overlooked in times of crisis. Comprising a specially trained team of volunteers, Rockfish ERN has undergone rigorous preparation through programs like NC CERT training and FEMA‘s comprehensive emergency management courses. This rigorous training ensures they are well-equipped to respond effectively and compassionately across all levels of disaster response.

Driven by a deep-seated commitment to service and a profound understanding of the unique role churches can play in disaster recovery, Rockfish ERN stands ready to support Christian communities impacted by natural disasters. Their mission goes beyond mere assistance; it embodies a dedication to restoring faith, community, and resilience in the face of adversity.
